Who
does not like a cookie? It is said that cookies are the sweetest little bit of
comfort food. They are very bite-sized and personal. Besides aquamarine
oceans, azure blue skies, breathtakingly beautiful sunrise and sunsets, rainbows and luau,
Hawaii is also famous for these delectable, tongue tickling shortbread cookies
that make you want more after you have gorged down the last bite. They are
aptly named Honolulu Cookies, as they spread the spirit of Aloha all around the
world.
Few of
the brands have become more iconic to the city than Honolulu Cookie Company
(HCC).
Honolulu Cookie company was started in 1998 by entrepreneurs Keith and Janet Sung.
Honolulu Cookie company was started in 1998 by entrepreneurs Keith and Janet Sung.
Coming
from an artistic background, Keith has transformed each cookie into a fine
piece of art. Whether it is the delectable taste, melting in mouth consistency,
unique pineapple shape or its artistic and sophisticated packaging, it’s a
gastronomic delight for the natives and tourists alike.
The duo
wanted to create something very unique, depicting the Hawaiian spirit of
hospitality and at the same time look very aesthetically pleasing. So, after
much thought and deliberation, the iconic pineapple shape cookie was born. Ahmad
Yu, the company's vice president of operations says, "Our pineapple shape
allows people to identify the brand with the Islands. It's tropical, it's warm,
it's friendly…it's Hawai'i."
